We are so happy to have you come to Ohio. Our goal is to make your year a wonderful experience. We are going to do everything we can to make sure that happens. To make this works for you, it will take a commitment from you. This requires you to go to school here and to do your BEST.

For most of the exchange students, this year does not count for any credits back home, but it really counts for your successful exchange year.  It is also the key to you perfecting your English language skills and learning about American culture. One of our primary goals is to help you perfect your English language skills. We also want you to live in English.

There will be a 30 day blackout period after you arrive. You may call your parents to let them know that you arrived safely, but then no emails or phone calls for 30 days with your family or friends back home.

We have monthly meetings you are required to attend.  These allow you to meet and befriend your fellow exchange students.  These students will be some of your best friends and an important support group for you.

Your family here is your host family.  They are there to help you have a great exchange.  You have to be involved with the family.  You are part of their family. Your host family is not a hotel; you have to be part of their lives. You will have responsibilities and jobs.  You are coming on exchange to learn about life in America and becoming part of your host family is the fastest way to make this happen.

We want to help you make this the best year of your life so far and to give you what you need to have a wonderful future. We look forward to having you with us and to learning more about you and your country!
